365 Services MK recently completed a full commercial electrical installation as part of the redevelopment of Arts1 Dance & Performance Arts Centre in Linford, Milton Keynes.
The project included a full rewire of the facility alongside new lighting, power, data, security and audio systems, providing the electrical infrastructure needed for a modern dance and performance centre.
It is a great example of the range of work involved in a larger commercial installation, with several electrical and specialist systems being delivered together as part of one coordinated project.
What the project involves
The electrical works at Arts1 include:
- Complete electrical rewire throughout the facility
- New power installation across the building
- Energy-efficient LED lighting systems
- Power and controls for air conditioning
- Telephone and data network installation
- CCTV security system installation
- Professional multi-zone sound system across four new dance studios
Bringing these services together under one contractor helps keep the installation coordinated throughout the redevelopment, from the core electrical infrastructure through to the systems used every day by staff, students and visitors.
Electrical installation for a dance and performance centre
A dance and performance venue has different requirements from a standard office or commercial unit.
The electrical installation needs to support multiple studios, lighting, sound equipment, climate control, communications and security while providing a practical and reliable system for everyday use.
At Arts1, the new power and lighting installation was delivered alongside the data, CCTV and audio systems, allowing each part of the building to work together as a complete facility.
The multi-zone sound system serves four new dance studios, allowing the different spaces to be used independently for classes, rehearsals and other activities.
Power, lighting, data and security in one project
The redevelopment involves much more than a straightforward rewire.
New LED lighting systems were installed throughout the facility, providing an efficient and modern lighting solution for the redeveloped spaces.
The project also included electrical supplies and controls for the building’s air conditioning, helping support a comfortable environment throughout the studios and other areas.
Alongside the main electrical work, 365 Services MK installed the centre’s telephone and data network, as well as a new CCTV security system.
By delivering these systems alongside the electrical installation, the different parts of the project can be planned and installed together rather than treated as separate jobs.
